Not a brewery, more like a fermentery. We had an excellent time. Wait staff was less then knowledgable but kind. Food was excellent! Missing two stars comes from "The Duke" smelling and tasting like floor cleaner. It was obvious something was left in the fermenter or lines after cleaning. Waitress blamed corporate?!?!

Super friendly staff even coming in an hour before closing on a Sunday evening. Burger was great. Waffle fries a little salty. But overall -- excellent. I'd return.

Ok, where to start. I guess the atmosphere is a wash due to the 7 people at the 15-20 bar top. The bartender was polite and attentive but still shooting the bs with customers. Great attitude. The beer is brewed in house but like most brewpubs it's mehh. Not outstanding but not bad. The dinner I had was the Mediterranean Chicken. It comes with broccoli and mine was cooked just right. The chicken was touching dry but not quite. It did have a wonderful balsamic vinegar reduction drizzle that was great. I'm a glutton and fool so I salted things up a bit. It's a nice, big, affordable place. I would not be afraid to come back. I'm sure when this place is really hopping the atmosphere would be good. I was alone as I'm traveling and a big bar with TVs makes it work for me. So, give it it a go.

I've been to Granite City twice. Both times the food was great and the service was very attentive. The menu has a lot of different options, but it makes sense. I did not try any of the beer, but they have a lot of selections that sounded interesting. We had some good appetizers, for dinner I suggest the Salmon. It was amazing. The vegetables were fresh and the food arrived timely. Looking forward to going back.

Usually hit this place to meet friends or family when we're in town. It's conveniently located with plenty of parking. I'll probably get railed for saying it, but I'd say it's an updated notch-above Cheddars or Applebees, with a focus on microbrews. A tad more upscale than those neighborhood joints, but also a chain. My review of 3 stars is for the food & service only. The menu has a large variety and we've always been presented with a separate menu for daily specials. Food is good to great --never spectacular, but always satisfying and sometimes "too much" (we've always needed take-home boxes). Service has always been good & friendly. The last visit I noticed that the staff have been versed on pairing and recommending beer choices with what you've ordered for food. Nice touch, but some of the waitstaff seem a bit young to actually "know" how to pair--more like "taught what to say." Regardless, their attempt is genuine and sincere. I have always been satisfied with the food & service here, even though nothing is memorable. The beer however, is hit or miss. I really like the Brother Benedict and it's usually my staple when i'm there. The IPA that some other reviewers mention is bitter, and is described so. The seasonals are....meh. The light beers are bud light, I swear. Out of the impressive 8 servings on the beer sampler, we actually could only tolerate about 3-4 of them. The ones that were not very palatable were the mixed/combo varieties. I'm not sure why you combine two or three beers into one unless you're at a frat party. Seems a tad like overdoing it. In all, it's a decent, well-located place to meet up with friends for a casual meal and a brew.

My Husband and I have been here 2 times..We went maybe in September...The first time we went around 4:00.Got seated right away. I ordered a spicy shrimp app, and it was really good..Then a pasta dish with sundried tomatoes olives and a garlic butter sauce..Tasty.. My Husband loved the fact He got to try some different beers on our first visit..One I really liked was a chocolate flavored one, and I don't drink...He did get that with a steak..Our dinner was good... Ahead now 3 weeks later...got the great shrimp app...Husband got a steak and I don't know why, but I love a GOOD meatloaf sooooo I ordered it...BIG, MISTAKE .The inside was cold....a 2-3 inch piece of cold meatloaf with semi warm mashed potatoes on Texas toast....I sent it back...they "warmed " it up..sent it back..Can't anyone make meatloaf here?????????????...You shoould take it off your menu if you can't execute it properly.... This place seems to be very popular for drinks..I guess after 2-3 drinks you don't care what you eat...Won't go back..better food elsewhere...The manager gave me a dessert...WHOOPIE DO......I didn't eat my food and paid for it...I wonder who ate my meatloaf??

Just got back from a kind of disappointing experience. It was suppose to be my birthday dinner but I was kind of sad I picked it. Apps were good. But all of our dinners were messed up in some way. Mostly from under cooking. Everyones baked potato was hard as a rock. My steak which I ordered medium well, came out in bloody juice. Everyone's meals ended up being refired. I got tired of having to send things back. Eventually we just ate what we could and left the rest. Everything was also super slow. It took us nearly 3 hours from the time we ordered the app until the time we left. We were the forgotten table. Maybe for drinks and apps it's okay. Not worth the 120 we spent for 3.

Incredibly subpar food. The only reason I'm giving two stars rather than one us because the waitress was very nice and corrected our bill. If you enjoy good food at all, do not go here. There is no attention to detail and everything is over-priced. My fiancé ordered a buffalo burger which was disgusting (salt-city and undercooked), and when he reordered a chicken salad it came out drenched in oil. My fish tacos were meh. I wish we would have cooked dinner at home. There is no focus on good quality. Don't waste your money.

I had always been skeptical of how good it could be. I had dinner here tonight and loved it . The beer was amazing couldn't believe the service. I will definitely be coming back again and again .

I liked when this place showed up in Fort Wayne. Another brew type restaurant. They only have a handful of beers they make. But I swear and my uncle pointed this out to me, I think they changed their IPA. We both swear it tasted better. Not that it taste bad now, but the flavor just isn't the same. Maybe we're both crazy in the head, or maybe they actually changed it. I will have to ask them. I've eaten there with my family and the food is quite good! I do fancy their bleu burger. It's one of my favorite burgers to eat in Fort Wayne. Being it's fairly new, the decor is up to date and I love that they have a bar off to the side because if you go in by yourself for a beer, you don't want to be the weirdo sitting by yourself at a table of booth! LOL. Being close to the mall and close to Coliseum road, they're in a great location and I'd say they get lots of traffic, so I bet there is a good steady flow of people that go there. Haven't been there in awhile with the family and I'm not sure the appeal is there for us to think about going there more than we do.

My husband and I had a WONDERFUL experience here the other day for lunch. We sat in the bar for and had possibly the BEST server that we had ever had. His name is Michael and he was phenomenal! We ordered the beer sampler and he explained the different beers in great detail. He then talked to us about the menu and chef specials and have us a few suggestions. For my meal, I ordered Fish Tacos (Chef Special) and a house salad with Bleu Cheese dressing. My husband ordered shrimp tacos (menu item) and a house salad with ranch. After ordering, Michael told us that they incorporate there beer into some dishes and that he was going to bring out their cheddar ale soup for us to try. The Food: My Fish Tacos were exceptional! They were made with blackened tilapia and had a wonderful sauce on them. They make their Bleu Cheese dressing in house... It was so good! My husbands shrimp tacos were really good too but a bit spicy for me (the menu does state that they are spicy). The cheddar ale soup was good enough to order a whole bowl full! It came with small rye bread croutons on top, which definitely enhanced the ale flavor. The Beer: They have pretty good beer. My favorite was their Black and Tan and my husbands was the Batch 1000. If you have never been there before, I recommend getting a sampler to become aquatinted with their beer. We had a wonderful time at Granite City and will be going back, as well as requesting to be sat in Michaels section when we go!!

The whole feel of this restaurant is great. Love this atmosphere. I wish I had taken more pictures. The drinks were amazing. I had the Flying Monkey which tastes like strawberry lemonade, but with a kick. All the beer is brewed in house! Our waiter, Austin, I believe his name was, is amazing. He knows what he's doing. The only reason I'm not givin this place a 5 star rating is because I wasn't exactly in love with what I ordered. Other then that I'd recommend people try this place. :)

We were there last night. Food was good, not great. But that might have been because I wasn't really very hungry. Certainly nothing wrong with it. We sat outside. Which was primarily why we choose the place, as it was a lovely evening. Was very irritated that the wait staff ignored the patrons who decided to smoke. One person was in the seat next to the door! Gross and against the law!!!

Big show burger is absolutely delicious!! The amount f Onion strings they add can be a bit too much sometimes but it is still freaking awesome!! Idaho nachos appetizer is really good as well. Fish tacos and shrimp tacos are both delicious as well the chicken tacos. Asian chicken salad is also is good choice is you're looking for something lighter but the portion is actually pretty large. The Overlake sandwich is a good option as well!! Be sure to ask for Kara as your server! She was very nice, informative and always made sure she kept our table free of unwanted plates or cups and stayed on top of our refills.

This place was fabulous! The beers were interesting and flavorful and the food was to die for! We had the beer sampler platter to start off with, along with the spinach artichoke dip. The dip was really cheesy, and went well with the flat bread. The beers were lovely! I like light beers and my favorite was the shandy, while my husband really liked the triple blended beer. Monster, I think it was called? Then the waitress brought us samples of the cheesy chicken tortilla soup- yum! My husband had the peppercorn blue cheese burger with the sweet potato tots and chipotle ranch, and I had the bruschetta salad. So so good! The flavor of the burger was so delicious and well balanced, it practically melted in your mouth, and my salad was bright and fresh and really yummy. The cheesy crouton bread surrounding the salad was a nice touch also, and contrasted well with the balsamic tang of the salad. Oh, and our waitress was great, really on the ball and professional. We will definitely come back!

I come to Ft Wayne on business every other week and Granite City is my favorite place to eat in Ft Wayne...The tomato bisque is to die for. I always have some variety of the salmon, but my favorite is the grilled salmon with asparagus and I sub the garlic mashed potatoes for wild rice. The staff recognizes us all the time and we get fairly good service. We typically have groups of anywhere between 6-15 people and its has never been a problem getting seating or timely service.

Great service! Made a reservation for 15+ and they accommodated us on a Friday night. Shawn was our server and was awesome, thanks! Flat breads after 9pm (happy hour on weekdays) are $7. Good stuff. Gonna be back to try their dessert and Sunday brunch.

Solid brewpub chain. I read a lot of the other reviews and the reviewers think they are on the Food Network! This is Peoria people, not Paris. Take it easy. You'll get a decent beer and meal at Granite City. Are there better brewpubs in the U.S., for sure. But I've only been in town for 2 days and I haven't discovered all the hidden gems and this place did just fine. I recommend Granite City. I've also been to their brewpub in Fort Wayne and it was about the same as this one.

Had the flatbread the first time I came here. It was pretty good. I decided to switch it up on my next visit so I tried the barramundi. It was just okay. Pretty bland, the quinoa was over cooked and soaked in a butter sauce. I ordered broccoli instead of asparagus. That was over cooked too. Service was on par with a Bob Evans or Fridays. It did the job, but wasn't great. Stout was flat, 2x IPA wasn't very doubly. All-in-all, the price is fair. $65 with tip for a family of four. Food is very "chain-like" and beer (which they pride themselves on) was average at best. I put this place right in line with an Applebee's or any other major chain. If you're looking for value, this place will do.

Good American Cuisine and friendly service. I have never had a bad meal or experience here and have visited dozens of times. My favorite is the "two pull" for a beer choice and the bruschetta salad. Be expecting to wait for a table in peak mealtimes. It's a popular place in the area.

The best black & blue burger I've had so far! The blue cheese was made into a cheesy sauce. We had fun w/ the beer sampler platter, trying all of the different kinds. I took two points off because of the menu advertised cooked onions but they served it w/ smaller fried onions. I would have preferred the caramelized onions. And the waitress was cold, as in, if I give you a hug will you be nicer next time you visit our table.

Had a girls date and we were very impressed. Our server was very knowledgable about the beer sample platter we each ordered and she was able to replace my shandy with an IPA. Fish tacos were amazing!!!! Patio setting was enjoyable.

Came back recently for lunch. Sat in a booth in the bar area which was a little awkward for 2 people not a couple (the booth was semi-circular but with a squarish table- sitting on the same side felt too close and sitting facing each other felt too impersonal). Had the chopped salad but wish I asked for dressing on the side (it was mixed in). Friendly service.

I've always had good food and service here. Here's what I've tried: Adult Bock Mac and Cheese - Not bad, but needs some more cheese. Grilled Salmon Oscar - Salmon with asparagus, crab, hollandaise sauce, and on the side was broccoli and wild rice. This was so good, I tried to make it at home. Came out about the same. Chocolate Cake - Chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, with an amazing whiskey butter sauce. The cake by itself sucks. Adding the whiskey butter makes it AMAZING. One of the best cakes I've had, ever. I gave it a 5 star rating mostly because of the chocolate cake, and they inspired me to make the salmon oscar dish at home.

Really disappointing visit. Arrived at 4 pm for dinner with a party of 3. Very Poor Service.. Unprofessional to say the least. We had 3 waitresses in 30 minutes... And none seemed to communicate with one another about our order. After noticing so many tables with strange amounts of broccoli on their plates ... We were informed they ran out of garlic mashed potatoes and it'd be an hour before they made more. Contacted the manager... Cancelled our orders and went to have dinner somewhere else. Is this the norm for this place...I can't say. Would I recommend. ..in good faith...you try this place....no!!!

Looking for a nice, starchy meal? You'll find it here! I actually mean that in a good way. The pasta, potatoes, steaks, and thick sauces are really delicious. But if you're looking for something a bit healthier, well, be prepared for mediocre food from limited options. We recently went here with my family. I ordered grilled salmon and a side of broccoli, Stephen ordered a flat bread pizza with maple bacon. Our food took a good 40 minutes, which is all right. We happily chatted and drank our beers (2 dollar 20oz night!) but when we received our food, it was decidedly room temperature, even kind of cold. The place was busy, likely due to the drink special, but I was disappointed to see that my food seemed to be thrown onto an overlarge plate. My cool salmon steak unceremoniously flopped down next to a small portion of plain broccoli. Made me a little sad inside. I tasted Stephen's pizza and it was pretty tasty! Would have been even better if it were warm. Our waitress was lovely and had a nice sense of humor. The slow service wasn't her fault as she had to wait on the bar to get our next round of drinks and of course had to wait on the kitchen for food-- but she didn't blame it on anyone. I've never been overly fond of this place, but because it's a regular spot for my family, I find myself here again and again for better or worse...

I don't eat at many places, but I can say that this has to be among the best, if not the best, steak places you can go to. I'm not a big spender on food and don't eat at alot of higher priced places, but I thought the steak was well worth it for a random splurge on a steak. Along with redskin mashed potatoes and broccoli, it was the perfect compliment. My only big complaint was the price, but you're getting a top of the line steak for the price. And when getting dessert, get the double chocolate shooter. You'll understand why when you try it.

Expect a very long wait for dinner and Sunday brunch. A popular place. Good location and atmosphere, average food. Personally, I don't find the wait to be worthwhile for chain restaurant food when there are so many good local restaurants. Micro brews not special.

I have been here probably six or seven times and I'm just really torn on how to rate it. The food is always well-presented, not quite fine dining but on the verge. It is usually very tasty and done correctly. The buffalo shrimp are spectacular and the pretzels and cheddar was a comforting start to the meal. The rosemary filet is always good. The service has been hit or miss. Our waiter last night was not spectacular but I think he was busy - I'd want to ask for something and he was gone before I could swallow and open my mouth - and then he was mister personality as we were actually leaving. The most disappointing part of taking our out-of-town guests there last night, however, was actually the brew. We've had it before and it was definitely not enjoyable last night. My husband ordered a black and tan and just got a bock. My IPA was extremely bitter. Our guest ordered the sampler and I'm not sure he liked any of them. I wished immediately that we'd taken them to Mad Anthony's instead! The atmosphere is great, you usually don't have to wait long to be seated, and the food is well done - but avoid the brew and be prepared for a large check.

Foody food does not come in chain form. Eating here was like licking a salt block. The waitress had fewer than ten brain cells. I would rather eat out of a little caesars dumpster.

Better have a reservation because the front desk people cannot tell time. We were told it would be a 50 mimute wait. After 1hoor and 10 minutes we were told it would be another 15 minutes. We left be cause the people who were waiting next to is had been told just another 5 minutes for the third time.

  • Johnny D.

Always been a fan of the food. Would give three stars for the food. The service has a separate story. When I called they said it would be a 30 min wait. When I arrived I was happy to hear it was still a 30 min wait. This is where we got frustrated. The manager kept coming over and any group of girls he noticed first he would grab their coaster and seat them next. He went on to seat six groups of girls that showed up after our party. It felt like we were waiting to get into a night club where the youngest groups of girls were let in first. This caused our wait to go to one hour and twenty minutes. Once I expressed my concern with the host we were seated right away. Would have had a great night with a manager that just went first come first served.

I'm from the western U.S. states which I'm sure spoils me when it comes to Micro brews, and I have to say these are some of the worst beers I've ever had. My husband and I tried very hard to like them by sampling all of them. When we finally choose one, we were still disappointed. As a place to eat, our food was good, but nothing to write home about. I liked my Southwestern Salad. A bit pricey, but good. I don't think we will ever go back, especially as beer snobs. I think if you are going to put Brewery in the title of your name, you should get it right. In my opinion this is a for profit only business, rather than catering to the art of being a micro brew. They even claim they have patented a more efficient way of making beer for their 26 locations in the US. This is not a good sign. If you choose to go to a large Micro brew chain I say go to BJ's Brewery, but then the closets to FW is Greenwood, IN south of Indie. They have an excellent Imperial Stout. Lastly, this place come across as a bit snotty, with no rights.

We went for the Sunday Brunch Buffet with some friends from out of town. None of us were having beer with our breakfast, so I can't tell you anything about their brews. Buffet was $12.99 per person. There was enough variety to give you some choices, but I think they keep it to a level where the quality level can be kept up. I particularly liked the fruit, french toast, sausages, belgian waffles (you don't have to get a whole one), and carmel rolls. I didn't like the "hashbrown" casserole like thing and the salads were over dressed. I think they would have good flavor if they hadn't been so wet. My husband liked the carmel rolls, bacon, biscuits, and waffles. He disliked the french toast I enjoyed so much - so it really is a matter of taste! There were a few things I didn't try this time: eggs benedict, prime rib, scones, pasta, rolls, etc. Wait staff was friendly, but not particularly professional. I feel I overheard way to much personal information. The food was good, the atmosphere nice enough. Would I go back for $12.99? I'm not sure. I'd have to be in the mood for a little bit of everything. Otherwise, it isn't really worth the price.

came here for a rehearsal dinner and brunch with my cousin before and after her wedding. never knew this was a buffet. the staff are very friendly.. and this is a lot of food.. and i mean a lot of food. For dinner, they had 3 types of appetizers, one salad, and 2 types of small pizza.. one with bacon and tomatoes and one w/out bacon. Their Pineapple tuna was very good. I didnt even realize it was tuna, i thought it was chicken.

We were visiting my son and daughter-in-law along with their son who will be a year old. I had gone by Granite City on previous visits, but, until tonight, we didn't have the opportunity to go there for dinner. We were thinking of going to Outback, but upon calling them found out that Outback had a 60-70 minute wait. I called Granite City and was told they had a 30-35 minute wait. Unfortunately, we opted to take the shorter wait which as you'll see wasn't the case. Upon arriving after a ten minute trip, the wait time had magically grown to an hour. While they hadn't asked for the size of our group (five adults plus a highchair) when I called -- they didn't ask either After an hour, we were called -- only to find out that the table they had for us was a booth and they couldn't put a highchair at a booth -- and the booster seats they have wouldn't work for a 1 year old. So, it was back to another wait -- this one was only 10 minutes more at least. It took a while for the server to come to the table after we were seated. Our drink order was taken. About 5-10 minutes went by before our drinks came (one waters, two pepsis, and two ice teas). Throughout the rest of our visit, it simply seemed that things were just taking too long -- even basic things like bringing ketchup would take about five minutes. Let me list some of what went wrong... * Two of us had chosen to have the London Broil, but were told that they had just run out of it as we were ordering * The soups and salad came out before the appetizer * We had to ask for bread (twice) and when it came, it was half a loaf (for five adults?) * After selecting something else in place of the London Broil and the order went to the kitchen, they came back out to tell us that they had also ran out of the garlic mashed potatoes * When the burgers were ordered, they asked about mustard, ketchup, or mayonaise. And yet when the burgers came out, there were no condiments with them -- and it took at least five minutes to get them after we asked our server. * The burgers were generally under-done (one very much so -- and so loaded with salt that it was almost inedible) * I ordered the garlic butter sirloin steak -- but there wasn't any butter on it as far as I could tell. The folks at the table next to us also had the same which looked very different. When I asked the server, I was told that what I had was correct (but I still don't think it was) * The server ran my credit card against another guest's check and I presume their credit card against my check. Simply put -- I will not be back (as I told the manager-type person as we left)

Huge fan of Granite City. I would compare it to an upscale Ruby Tuesday. Went here with the GF to grab some grub; we were not disappointed. They have their own microbrew, so we did the sampler special. 3.50 for 32 ounces of unique and refreshing beers, not a bad gig at all. I had the Betta Chedda Bacon Burger, delicious. They put a half-pound of shredded cheese on top. That was a little much for me, but still extremely tasty. Next time I'm in the fort, ill make a return.

This is our new favorite place to get a good dinner and beer. Service has always been spot on. If you don't want to wait to get your table then don't go on a busy night. And who cares if the menu says 7.5? Is it that hard to adjust to not having the third decimal?

grilled cheese and chocolate cake are the real winners on this menu. somehow i got the above, along with some fries and my bill came to 17 dollars!? i mean thats automatically -2 stars right there. ive got bread and cheese at home, so it was like a huge slap in the face. my family likes this place though. despite it being far too expensive. its sort of like applebees snobby new half sister.

Pretty good for a chain. The Sunday brunch offers a nice variety for a fair price. We also enjoy the pizzas on the menu- those are super fun to share. I'm not crazy about the beer, but I'm not a microbrew fan.

The flat bread was good. The Asian salad was good but a little flat in the flavor department. The Bruschetta salad was very good but way over dressed, this is why I hate getting salads with dressing already on it. I didn't ask for it on the side which I'm sure they would have done, but in always curious to see what each cooks personal standard of dressing a salad is. The cook at Granite City must like his salads swimming. The dressing was good though. Really where this place stood out was the waitress I had was very very good. She was attentive without being over bearing. Her name was Clyesisha she was great. Side note it was nice to get a drink from a "chain" style restaurant that actually had some booze in the drink. Most restaurants like this gip out on the booze, they don't here. All in all good experience. With above average food.
